SO4J-TV's Martha Mac interviewed Ray Comfort of Way of the Master TV about Biblical Evangelism and his Book "What Hollywood Believes", which explores the Faith of the Rich & Famous.
What is Biblical Evangelism? Biblical Evangelism is a term used by Author & TV Host Ray Comfort and Actor Kirk Cameron, of Way of the Master TV & Radio. The principles of Biblical Evangelism can be found in Ray Comfort's Book that he wrote called, "Hell's Best Kept Secret" (which also takes people through what is called the Good Test which talks about the Biblical Principles that Jesus laid out to us in giving us the Moral Law of the 10 Commandments to proud people (Matt 19:16-30; Mark 10:17-31; Luke 18:18-30)— to reveal their Sin, helping them to see their need for a Savior. The basic concept is: Give the Law of the 10 Commandments to proud people, and Grace (the Gospel of Jesus Christ) to Humble people.
To further explain Biblical Evangelism, we must first show people that they have a "Contagious Disease" called Sin (John 3:36, Romans 3:23) which will eventually lead all people to Eternal Hell & Separation from God. (Romans 6:23) By helping people understand this Bad News that all will Perish and go to Hell, then the Cure of the "Good News" of the Gospel of Jesus Christ's' Death & Resurrection for our Sins will make sense; then we will be able to clearly understand what we are being Saved from, and the Good News of Jesus Christ will truly be Good News.
Most people say they are a "Good Person", and they believe that because of their own Goodness they will automatically get into Heaven. This is False. Jesus always gave people the Law of the 10 Commandments to Proud People to show them how they are not Good at all (Matt 19:16-30; Mark 10:17-31; Luke 18:18-30), and that without Him they would end up in Hell. He always gave Grace to Humble People. Law to the Proud and Grace to the Humble.
With the Law of the 10 Commandments God breaks the Hard Heart and with the Gospel of Jesus Christ He heals the Broken Heart. Never will you see Jesus giving the Gospel to a proud, arrogant man, because He always did those things that please the Father. God resists the Proud and gives Grace to the Humble. (James 4:6-10)
